Ross is an Authorized Level 2 instructor who learned Ashtanga Yoga directly under the teachings of Saraswati Jois in Mysore, India and has assisted Saraswati on multiple occasions. He has been practicing for over 25 years and continues to take annual trips to India to further his studies.
In 2017, he received his Authorization to teach from Saraswati Jois, becoming one of the few teachers to be authorized to teach Intermediate Series by her. Ross seeks to preserve the traditional Ashtanga method by maintaining a daily practice and teaching his students with the same integrity and patience that was taught to him by his teachers.
Ross has a Master's Degree in Education and is a public school teacher. He has a black belt in judo, enjoys rock climbing, motorcycle travel, bicycling, Shakespeare, and of course coffee. Ross deeply believes in #yogishelpingyogis.
In this workshop the six traditional pranayama techniques will be explained and practiced. Suitable for practitioners of all levels wanting to deepen their understanding of yogic breathing.
Students take part in pragmatic approaches and solutions to challenges they may find in the Ashtanga yoga practices. Work with peers to overcome common obstacles in the practice.
Lecture details the basic concepts of this seminal work and breaks down each chapter to its simplest form. Learn how this ancient text can inform your modern yoga practice.
Students learn theory and practice to several drills that develop better handstands. Explore the foundational elements that lead to successful inversions in the Ashtanga practice.
